Welcome to the Mendon Public Safety interactive web site. The Mendon Public Safety Department provides Police, Fire and Emergency Services, and is committed to protecting citizens and neighborhoods through activities that promote and support prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, education and enforcement. These objectives are achieved through a focus on saving lives, providing efficient and effective services, maintaining public trust and developing strong partnerships.
The Mendon Police Department is a proactive, professionally accredited law enforcement agency located here, in southern Worcester County. The Department's inception dates back to 1932, under the auspices of Chief Arthur E. Brown. Today, as we move into the twenty-first century, the Mendon Police Department strives endlessly for new innovative ways to communicate and build on our relationship with the public.
The Mendon Police Department is charged with the responsibility of serving and protecting not only the residents of our community, but all from near and far whose paths travel through our community from time to time.
The Mendon Fire Department is an integral part of this Town's responsibility to provide for the welfare of the town and its citizens. It is through an effective life and fire safety education, investigation, code administration, application and enforcement effort that Mendon will realize the greatest protection from fire and accident. The Mendon Fire Department also provides the highest level of emergency medical services to our citizens. We are on our way towards seeking accreditation through the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, Inc., promoting excellence within the fire service through continuous quality improvement.
A community's level of emergency preparedness is a major concern for the Department of Public Safety, and with the expertise and resources of the town, the state and the Federal Government, our Emergency Services Department is well-trained and working towards final development and implementation of a Local Emergency Planning Committee to focus on threats associated with hazardous materials and the development of a communication plan that will be used to help inform citizens on the appropriate steps to take to stay safe and prepared.
Please feel free to contact me personally at the station or through my e-mail address at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will make every effort to respond to your e-mails in a timely fashion.
